Dennis Nana Dwamena, commonly known as KiDi, is a Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer-songwriter who was born on August 18, 1993. He’s signed to Lynx Entertainment, MadeInENY, and EMPIRE, and he’s most known for his smash song ‘d.’ The remix, which includes Nigerian singers Mayorkun and Davido, has gotten widespread airplay across Africa. At the 2018 Ghana Music Awards, KiDi won Highlife Song of the Year for his popular song ‘d. He went on to win Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2019 Ghana Music Awards and Album of the Year at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards for his first album Sugar.

Early life and Education
Dennis Nana Dwamena was born on August 18, 1993, in Accra, Ghana, to Gerald and Beatrice Thompson. He attended St. Anthony’s School in Accra for elementary school before moving on to Accra Academy for senior high school. He then attended the University of Ghana Legon, where he earned a degree in Economics and Information Studies in 2016.
Early beginnings and breakthrough
KiDi’s passion of music prompted him to perform on different “Moonlight Café” venues while studying Economics and Information Studies at the University of Ghana – a production that promotes underground musicians and provides them a place to showcase their skills. He also released covers of well-known songs. KiDi took a risk by entering the MTN Hitmaker competition in 2015. He eventually won the tournament and was signed by Lynx Entertainment. KiDi rose to popularity in 2017 with the release of “Say You Love Me,” a song he wrote, orchestrated, and produced. KiDi established himself as one of Ghana’s fastest growing artists when he released “d” (meaning-Love) in July 2017, the remix featuring Nigerian singer Davido and Mayorkun in December 2017, and Adiepena in April 2018. He followed this up with a string of chart-topping singles, including the 2020 blockbuster hit ‘Say Cheese,’ which debuted on the UK’s Official Afrobeats Chart. In 2020, KiDi appeared on Wyclef Jean’s program ‘Run That Back.
