Minnie Dlamini, full name Minenhle Jones née Dlamini, was born on July 7, 1990 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa to Jabulani and Queen Dlamini. She received her primary and secondary education at Northlands Girls’ High School before attending the University of Cape Town, where she majored in film, media, theater, and economics.

Dlamini was a presenter on LIVE on 16 June 2010, while studying at the University of Cape Town, after making her initial TV appearance while covering the “Youth Day” and “World Cup celebrations” shows. She later co-hosted Mzansi Insider, a lifestyle show on SABC 1. In 2012, she left the show to pursue a career as an actress. Minnie transitioned to sports programming in 2013, co-hosting Soccerzone with Thomas Mlambo until the show’s structure was modified by SABC 1 in 2016. Dlamini was announced as the new face of South African department store LEGit in September 2011, with her own fashion line, the Minnie-Series.
Dlamini formed the Minnie Dlamini Foundation in 2014, a charitable organization dedicated to ensuring that young South African girls have access to a good education.
